MEET MONTY

monty.jpeg

I’m a professional photographer and photo editor. At 54 my body was in decline due to sedentary photo editing work. I’ve always been active and I knew intrinsically that my body was capable of healing. I found yoga and I set a goal to mitigate the deterioration. I went hard and ten years later, thanks to amazing instructors and community support, I teach master yoga classes in NYC.

I’ve encountered thousands of men during my journey who were looking to incorporate strength building flexibility, mindfulness, and nutrition as they aged and wanted a program that could be customized to accommodate their needs and lifestyle. With their feedback, I developed a functional fitness, yoga based movement practice and lifestyle program to benefit men specifically.

In 2019 I co-founded The Yoga Gent, a holistic health and wellness, closed-loop app for men 35 to 65. It offers four modalities: functional fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, and community designed to offset the typical aging process most men face. The Yoga Gent specializes in customizing these modalities and augments them with AI, Skeletal Tracking and 3D Body Mapping to create a modern program tailored to each user.
